Show Volunteers

 

Job descriptions: 

Lobby Sales: arrive one hour before Show

Leads: Kelly Urban, Chelsea Brown, Cassie Oliver

RAFFLE BASKETS

  • Collect donated raffle items and group into baskets as theme ideas are outlined by Chairperson
  • Sell raffle tickets prior to each show & during intermission. Distribute baskets to winners

CANDY GRAMS

  • Collect donations and organize/bag items for candy grams
  • During show: sell grams and attach skater notes to correct item
  • Candy runners: place grams in skater mailbox & at end of show place in mailbox area

FLOWERS

  • work with Chairperson to order flowers & Arrange groupings
  • During show: sell flowers Attach any notes for skaters on correct flowers.
  • Place in skater’s bag or set on flower table backstage

PROGRAM BOOKS & 50/50

  • Sell Program Books
  • Sell 50/50 tickets

MERCH TABLE

  • Skate Company apparel & blankets

Spotlights: arrive 1/2 hour before Show

Leads: Fred Dumont & Dan Jackson

  • Arrive half hour before show
  • Attend Technical Rehearsals and dress rehearsals
  • Operate your designated spotlight at the direction of Fred & Dan

Ushers: arrive 45min before Show

Leads: Andrew Boone & Clemente Herrera

  • Usher guests to seating prior to show start
  • Assist late guests to their seats in between numbers
  • Assist in skater bleachers to ensure only skaters are in section
  • Ensure only skaters & authorized volunteers enter through backstage doors
  • CERT to handle all medical situations that may arise

Tickets: arrive 1 hour before Show

Leads: Melanie Petri & Debbie Van Cleave

TICKET SELLER

  • Greet guests & sell tickets for admission
  • Help guests with choosing on ice seats if needed
  • Credit card & cash handling

TICKET TAKER

  • Collect tickets at the door
  • Stamp hands for readmission
  • Scan electronic tickets

Backstage: arrive 1 hour before Show. Must be SafeSport

Leads: Melanie Petri & Debbie Van Cleave

CHECK IN/CHECK OUT

  • Ensure each skater is checked in upon arrival (can’t leave once checked in)
  • Assist in escorting them to their rooms
  • Ensure only Safesport parents are backstage
  • Once show begins, can leave position until intermission
  • During intermission, ensure skaters do not leave backstage area
  • Once show begins again, can leave position until finale
  • At finale, work with runners to help gather skaters and belongings
  • Make sure each skater signs out
  • Straighten check in area
  • Must stay until most skaters are picked up

RUNNERS

  • Assist Check In helper with escorting skaters to their room
  • Responsible for ensuring skaters are ready to get on ice prior to their number
  • Runners will go to locker rooms and bleachers to escort skaters to the ice entrance
  • Pay attention to show order for who is next on the ice
  • Responsible for skater control- ensuring skaters are quiet and not on the ice prior to being instructed to be
  • Communicate with Quick Change room to ensure skaters are dressed and ready
  • Straighten backstage area after show

Locker Rooms: arrive 1 hour before Show. Must be SafeSport

Leads: Kristina Quirouette & Madison Swoveland

LOCKER ROOMS

  • Make sure skaters are in correct locker rooms
  • Keep skaters entertained while waiting to skate and ensure skaters are well behaved
  • Be sure skaters are ready in a timely manner prior to each number; assist with tying skates, costume, hair, and accessory changes if needed for multiple numbers
  • Make sure skaters are wearing a robe/blanket when not on ice
  • Make sure only approved drinks and snacks are in locker rooms
  • Straighten locker room after show & stay until skaters are all picked up
  • *Note, 11 and up must change on their own in changing area.

LOCKER ROOM MONITOR (Rooms C, D, Boys)

  • Assist with skates, accessories, etc
  • Straighten locker room after show & stay until skaters are all picked up

Set Up, Tear Down, & Entrance Decorating

Leads: Andrew Boone & Katy Olsen

Specific jobs will be posted for Rink set up and Lobby decor set up on Set Up Day

TEAR DOWN- MANDATORY!

  • Specific jobs will be posted for tear down
  • All families must have at least one person help with tear down (a $75 fee will be added to next year’s registration if not worked).
  • Be sure to sign in on the sign in day of event

ENTRANCE DECORATING- Leads Cassie Oliver, Kelly Urban, Chelsea Brown

  • Decorate main lobby, hallway, & concessions as planned by Chairperson & Lobby Sales
  • Place Skater Spotlight photos as directed
  • Blackout concession area windows and set up raffle tables
  • Clean areas of arena if nec

Special Jobs/Events

Leads: Lisa Francetich, Debbie Van Cleave, Katy Olsen

SPECIAL EVENTS

  • Work our luncheon on 4/26 during full day rehearsal
  • Organize snacks for locker rooms

SEWING

  • Costume alterations
  • Sew bear costumes

Props/Scene Shop

Leads: Melissa Herrera, Kelly Urban, Keith Chinavare

  • Work with chairpersons on tasks that are needed to complete show scenery
  • Paint, build, assemble, etc. props according to the design plans and appropriate timelines
  • Bring any tools with you that you may have to complete the tasks (drill, hot glue gun, etc)
  • Maintain cleanliness of the scene shop garage
  • Work with rink set-up chairperson to execute prop installation/placement
